Maurice Family Mourns the Loss of Beloved Son Braxton Savant
Maurice, Louisiana — A family and community in south Louisiana are grieving the heartbreaking loss of Braxton Savant, a young man remembered for his kindness, strong character, love of sports, and the relationships he built throughout his life.
Braxton, affectionately known as “Brax” to family and friends, passed away Tuesday following what relatives described as a tragic and unexpected incident. He was 21 years old.
Originally from Abbeville, Louisiana, Braxton’s passing has left those who knew him mourning the loss of a young life remembered for energy, ambition, and a future that many believed held great promise.
Family members shared their heartbreak following the sudden loss of their son, expressing sorrow over a life taken far too soon. Braxton was a 2023 graduate of North Vermilion High School, where he earned a reputation as both an intelligent student and an enthusiastic supporter of sports. Those who knew him during his school years remember someone who brought dedication into everything he pursued and formed lasting friendships with classmates and teammates alike.
Following graduation, Braxton became part of the workforce and was employed at Energy Solutions Technology, LLC, where he continued building the foundation of his adult life and future goals.
Outside of work and school, Braxton was also preparing for an important new chapter in life. He was engaged to Vyktoria Breaux, and loved ones say the couple shared hopes and plans for the future together.
Friends describe Braxton as someone who cared deeply for others and whose presence brought warmth and laughter into everyday moments. Whether among family gatherings, friendships, work, or community life, many say he left a meaningful impression through his authenticity and compassion.
